Decarbonizing cement: How EU cement-makers are reducing emissions while building business resilience

By 2030, EU cement-makers will have to reduce their carbon emissions per ton of cement by about 30% compared to 1990 levels. This target can be achieved mainly through fuel switching and thermal energy efficiency.

On the other hand, achieving carbon neutrality in 2050, requires carbon capture and storage and demand reduction. The problem is that the required technology is under development and even with it, it is not clear that the industry can achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

At Nanogence, we enable cement manufacturers to meet their science-based decarbonisation targets with our material technology without any significant upfront installation or capital cost, allowing seamless carbon reduction in cement manufacturing.
